vacationing on the South end of the beach, you yield yourself to several
area attractions that vacationers and
tourist from all over the country travel great distances to see.
The beautiful marsh land of Murrells Inlet is some of the most attractive
on the Strand. Set aside a morning to rise early and catch a magnificent
sunrise over the beautiful marsh and create picturesque vacation memories
you're sure to treasure forever! For a little action on the water, check
Wild Water - Water Park and take
a wild ride down their speed slides. After working up an appetite around
town, indulge yourself with the greatest variety and highest quality of
seafood found anywhere in the US. It's no surprise that Murrells Inlet,
South Carolina is called the "Seafood Capital of the World"!
Don't forget to check out some of the other attractions the South End
of the Beach has to offer such as Captain
Dick's Marina where you can find yourself cruising the salt water
marshes on guided tours given by Captain Dick's. Or let Marlin
Quay Marina of Garden City bring you face to face with some of the
waters most beautiful creatures. If your interested in exciting outdoor
activities, hit the skys and go parasailing and experience a view of the
beach like never before, and for those who prefer to stay grounded, rent
jet skis or waverunners for the day and ride until your heart's content!
A little farther south you will find the picturesque Brookgreen
Gardens, where you will find one of the most beautiful and picturesque
attractions on the beach.
Let the people at Brookgreen Gardens take you on a guided
tour of the gardens and view magnificent towering sculptures and remarkably
manicured gardens. Brookgreen Gardens is a must-see attraction on the
South end of the beach. Then just across the street from the gardens,
you will find the historical Hunington
Beach State Park, home of the ever aging Atalaya Castle. Browse through
the beautiful courtyards of and winding brick hallways of Atalaya and
then stop to check out some of the wild life at Hunington, where you will
find everything from beautiful birds to sunbathing alligators.

Just a short drive south of the Gardens and Hunington
beach, you will discover historic Georgetown,
filled with years of South Carolina History. Take a tour through some
of Georgetown's historic homes and marvel at the magnificent architecture
of the earlier years. Georgetown's Black River hosts many historic sites,
tour the river with an expert
guided tour, and see the low country in its pristine beauty.
Located just below Georgetown,
you will find the the great town of Charleston.
Charleston will intrigue you as you take in all the sites this little
town has to offer. Take in the sites as you stroll down the historic cobblestone
streets of Charleston. Take your time and browse the around the market
and try out some of the fresh vegetables, candy, and meals like you'll
find no where else. Don't forget to check out all of the marvelous antique
stores and gift shops there in the market. A great place to spend the
day shopping, dining and site seeing and just 100 miles south of Myrtle
